Integral Safety Schiphol

Royal Schiphol Group asked Orange Tribes to create a website based on an interactive map. The main goal of the Integral Safety Schiphol project is to communicatie safety targets, goals and project-updates in a visual way and not in the ordinary PDF structure the user was used to.

We decided to create a custom WordPress theme based on the Schiphol requirements:

• Visual communication
  The user should see the Safety procedures on the map. So the user should see what’s happening where, while reading the project updates
• Multilingual
  The website and projects should be available in both Dutch and English

The website was created and tested with corporate environments in mind. The challenge in this project was an interactive, map based site which was usable in old versions of Internet Explorer. Making it work in old browsers was a challenge, but with some polyfills (fallbacks), everything worked out.
